No longer AFK

Well..it HAS been a long time, hasn't it?
I've been up to a lot lately, mainly, packing and unpacking, only to feel the urge to move again, so more packing!
Let us see if I can give you a quick rundown of what has been going on since last time I was here..it's been over a
year, so this might not be as 'short and sweet' as I was hoping! haha!

Maybe it will be easier, quicker and more fun to do my year in pictures? Let's see...

Bought a new camera-Nikon D3000!
It takes the most beautiful pictures, of the most wonderful things. Possibly my most favourite purchase thus far!

This is Belle, she is a dog. She belonged to our Aunty Mary, but unfortunately she passed on this year, and left her pooch behind, Belle now lives with Colin (my brother's dad).

This is my little brother, he turned 8 this year! I love him more than anything else in this world. He's grown up a lot in this last year, he's a real young man now!

We went to London in Febuary..it was all a lot of fun for the first day, we'd planned to do the Monopoly board..we did quite well, and had planned to finish it the next day. Unfortunately, we made a poor decision to eat Chinese food in Soho, and it all went downhill from there (for me at least!) Rather than spending 2 days and 1 night like we'd planned, we ended up staying nearly a week as I had food poisoning, my mum and brother (pictured) spent time sightseeing and finishing the board, while I lay in bed feeling rotten. Luckily, I'd taken enough time off work to cover my period of sickness, but it would have been nice if I could have spent the time enjoying myself!

Back in Cardiff, and everything is just the way we left it. March was fairly uneventful, but in April I moved house! I found a lovely apartment, right on the High Street, out of my bedroom window, I can see the Cardiff Castle, and out of my kitchen window, I can see the Castle and the Millennium Stadium! The apartment is lovely, and HUGE! I share with 3 guys, but they are all lovely.
Not long after moving, I was invited to my cousins wedding (Congrats Grem & Kerry!). I was really nervous to see my father's side of the family, as I'd not seen them all for a really long time! After weeks of searching, I finally found a nice dress to wear, although, I'm pretty sure that it had shrunk in the wash! This is a picture of my big brother and sister at the wedding, we're all grown up now! I think the last time we were all together must have been when I was very little, as I don't have memories of it myself. The wedding was gorgeous, seeing everyone was fantastic, and it's always lovely to meet new people.

This is my greatest friend and I after a night out on the razz last week. We started a business together a month or two ago, 'Bisous Events', which isn't really doing much at the moment, but we have had a lot on our plates recently, hopefully sometime soon, we can get it up and running again.
She lives in the apartment below ours and we hardly ever let a day go by without seeing one another! I don't quite know how she does it, but she puts up with all my quirks..my face making, my bad impressions, my AWFUL singing and my stupid jokes.. we get along famously, and we have decided to move together at the end of September/ beginning of October..to BRISTOL!
I've not been enjoying my job as much recently, the hours are not consistent, the customers are tiresome- as are the staff. I don't feel happy staying there for much longer and have handed in my resignation, I've been searching for jobs for the last few weeks, but have found nothing yet. I've been invited for a couple of interviews, but only for door-to-door sales work and the like, which I wouldn't mind doing if they came with a wage.. but sadly they are all commission only, and with a sales pitch like mine, it'd be a sad day when pay-day comes!

Well...I think that is pretty much my year summed up, excluding christmas, new year, my promotion, birthdays and anniversaries..but I don't have pictures for those, so you'll just have to use you're imagination!

Until next time.

My week (so far) in short.

Monday- Yay!! Been looking forward to this day for a long time. I start work for Ruby Tuesday today, it was good, got to meet a whole bunch (about 60) new people. most of them young and upbeat.

Tuesday-Work again, today was full of courses, COSHH, Food Hygiene blah blah blah. Very boring, but it needs to be done, I'm happy with the exam results and that is all that matters.

Wednesday- Today, we were given the day off. So I spent the day chilling out and having a picnic with my mum and little brother.

Thursday-Today, we spent half of the day training, and the other half having a tour of the new venue and seeing the food that we will be serving...bring on tomorrow!

The Evil That Is Chocolate Pudding

Today, something awful happened. Whilst making instant noodles and toast for dinner, I stumbled upon a huge tub of Cadbury's Cocoa Powder...that is when the evil began.
I decided that I should take a look on Google to see what I (an extremely novice cook) could put together.
I found this recipe for 'Finnish Chocolate Pudding'
500ml Milk
2 Tbsp Sugar
0.5 Tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
80g Flour

I followed the instructions to simmer the milk on the hob, then add the other ingredients. Keep cooking and stirring until the mixture is thick.

Anyhow.. I did it, and it was lumpy, I figured, I didn't mix it in enough or something.. but it tasted ok, so I tried again...this time, it tasted like I'd put too much flour in it..so...I tried AGAIN! Third time lucky...right? So I mixed the ingredients, cooked, stirred & simmered until ready.
It looked gorgeous, it smelt heavenly... so I tasted it, it was all right, but not as nice as I'd hoped, so I added some sugar while it was still pretty hot, and stirred it in, I was it melting and thought to myself how delicious it was going to be.
I left it to cool down a little so I could taste it properly, it was too hot to go into the fridge, so I put a tea-towel over the top and let it rest.
20 Minutes later... I take the tea-towel off the bowl, grab a dessert spoon and dig in.
I don't know whether it was my cooking, or the recipe, or those darn Fins and their demented taste-buds...but whatever it was, made me spit out the so-called 'Chocolate Pudding' and throw it into the bin.
I have made myself a promise, that I'm not going to cook anything for the foreseeable future.
Now I have nothing to eat, and a tummy with icky pudding in it!

If you have any ideas.. please let me know..

Saturday - The Weekend!

Well, today is Saturday! So far today, I haven't done anything amazing, or challenging. After I FINALLY get dressed, I'll be making sure I'm all ready for work on Monday...
I'll be starting my new job at 'Ruby Tuesday' which is a 'casual dining' venue. I'm hoping that with my previous experience, that I will be able to start as a Supervisor and work my way up quickly to Manager.
I was supposed to start work there on the 11th July, but as it is a brand new venue (the first of it's kind in the U.K) there were some teething problems which have caused delays.
The uniform will be a simple black t-shirt and black trousers, not particularly sexy, but easy to wear, and (depending on the strict-ness of the Managers & such) easy to accessorise.

Lady Gaga - Alejandro

Lady Gaga's Alejandro has almost constantly been playing in my ears since I first heard it, the video is sexy with the signature Gaga crazyness, and it gives you the want to watch it over and over again.
Definitely my number 1 of the fortnight! If you haven't heard it.. please do so!

Thursday- Shopping Day

Well.. here we are again, it's Thursday night and I'm recycling items like mad on Superpoke! Pets to have enough money to shop myself silly at 3am.

From the sneek peek, we see that the main theme for this week is 'Pirates', which doesn't excite me quite so much as the user created items, or the new wheel spin.. but girls will be girls, and we all know how much we like to shop!

I'll be back in the morning after what I hope to be a good nights rest, to let you know how shopping went!
